I’ve been using my Benefit “That Gal” primer lately, not because I prefer it, but because it came in my Confessions of a Concealaholic kit and I’ve recently decided I should really be using primer. (Translation: It’s the only one I have on hand because I haven’t gotten around to researching the best one for my skin…) However, I ran out of the Benefit stuff, so I went digging around in my drawer of stashed-away samples for something else I can use and found this one…
Pros: Contains vitamins A, C, & E. Sulfate and paraben-free. Adds a “glow” to skin. Not strongly fragranced. Goes on smoothly. Subtly tinted. Can be worn alone for a “natural” look.
Cons: Not suitable for oily skin (contains glycerin). Expensive. Made in China, like most of Pixi’s stuff.
In Summary: The amount of tint is perfect for my skin (I thought it was a little dark, but it was more sheer as it went on) and I like the “glow” it creates. Although I like the appearance of my skin when using this product, it’s just too heavy for my uber-oily skin and it made me shiny within about and hour of putting it on. If it weren’t for that (and the “cons” listed above), I’d really like it. As it turns out, it’s still a better choice than “That Gal”, which contains a lot of parabens, glycerin, and fragrance. So my search continues…
